This news comes as a surprise seeing as Rih’ was once a fan of the brand. She spent five hours shopping in the store in the London flagship store and was spotted with Topshop owner Sir Philip Green in Barbados. There were even rumors swirling of a possible collaboration between the two. However this once happy union seems to be over.
Rihanna is upset about the unauthorized use of her image. A source from the singer's camp said her management team tried several times to stop the fashion retailer from selling her image, The Post reports. "They buy the pictures from a photographer, but they do not pay the artist licensing fees. Unfortunately, UK law does not protect the artist," the source told the Post.
Rihanna has hired international law firm Reed Smith to file the claim in London. Topshop hasn't responded officially and has not yet released a statement to us. "She has spent almost $1 million in litigation at this point,” the source revealed. “She says it's the principle, and wants to make a statement about it."
